PLEASE NOTE ROAD CLOSURES AND SIGNIFICANT DELAYS THAT
COULD IMPACT YOU

On Saturday June 12th, 2010 from 2:30pm-7:00pm runners will be making their way eastbound from their official start lines (Half Marathon Start at Peninsula Ridge, 10K Start at Malivoire Winery, and 4K Start at Flat Rock Cellars). Roads will open up as runners pass, allowing vehicles to make their way around.

Half Marathon Race starts at Peninsula Ridge Winery at 3:15 p.m.:

  • Road shuts down at 2:45 p.m. from West St. to Durham Rd.
  • King St. closed both ways between West St. and Durham Rd. to allow runners start
  • Cruiser/Officer directing all e/b traffic north on Durham Rd.
 
  • Cruiser/Officer on Thirty Rd. at Ridge Rd. to prevent vehicular traffic n/b down Thirty Rd.
  • Officer on the north side of Thirty Rd. to watch traffic going south towards King St.
  • Cruiser/Officer at - Mountainview Rd./King St. directing traffic n/b on Mountainview Rd.
  • Cruiser/Officer at Queen St./King St. preventing traffic from going s/b on Queen St. - no traffic should be on Queen St. as it is
    a one way from Mountain Rd. heading n/b
  • Barricades placed on side streets to prevent traffic from getting onto Queen St.
  • Cruiser/Officer at Mountain Rd. /King St. to prevent traffic from going s/b on Mountain Rd.
  • Cruiser/Officer at Mountain Rd. /Philip Rd. to stop any traffic going n/b
  • Runners will be running on west side of Mountain Rd.
  • Officer at Mountain Rd. /Hillside Rd. crossing runners to from west side of road to Hillside Dr.
  • Cruiser/Officer at King St. /Bartlett Rd. directing traffic n/b on Bartlett Rd.
  • No e/b or w/b traffic on King St. between Bartlett Rd. and Cherry Ave.  Road closed at 3:00pm

10K Race Starts at Malivoire Winery at 3:00 p.m.:

  • Runners will be running eastbound on the south side of King St.
  • Cruiser/Officer at King St./Cherry St. directing w/b traffic north on Cherry St.
  • Slowest runner from Half Marathon should be passing King St. /Cherry St. around 4:45 pm
  • Cruiser/Officer at Cherry St. /Moyer Rd. directing n/b Cherry St. traffic west on Moyer Rd.
  • No n/b or s/b traffic on Cherry St. At 3:00 p.m., Cherry St. /Moyer Rd. will be closed
  • Runners will be on the south side of the road
  • Officers at intersection of Fly Rd. and Victoria Ave. directing runners
  • Cruiser/Officer at Victoria/6th Ave, positioning cruiser on north side of 6th Ave the corner of Victoria Ave. allowing
    runners to safely turn onto 6th, running on the north side of 6th
  • South lane within Balls Falls Conservation Area will be open
  • Runners run through Balls Fall and then down the west side of Glen Ave
  • Officers/Cruiser at the intersection of Reg. Road 81 (King St.) and Main St. in Jordan
  • One officer positioned at the top of the Jordan Hollow on King St., stopping e/b traffic to allow runners through  
  • One officer on King St. stopping e/b traffic and diverting it down 19th Street
  • One officer at the bottom of Glen Rd. crossing the runners over King St. onto Main St. to finish in Jordan village.

4K Stroll/Walk Race Starts at Flat Rock Cellars at 3:15pm:

  • While the 4K event does not require any road closures or street delays, please use extreme caution when traveling on
    Seventh Ave and Twenty-first St. from Flat Rock Cellars. There will be many walkers walking on the shoulder of these roads.

EMERGENCY VEHICLES WILL HAVE FULL ACCESS TO ALL STREETS AT ALL TIMES

Finish Line Area in Jordan village:

  • Main St. Residents will have full access to their property up until 11:00am
  • Main St. Residents will have limited vehicle access to their property from 11:00am - 7:00pm - as runners will be finishing the race in downtown Jordan Village. Residents may experience delays coming onto/leaving Main St., due to the numbers of both spectators and runners on Main St.
  • Race will conclude at 7:15pm and residents will have full access to their property at this time.
  • Downtown Jordan Village will be closed off to all traffic at 11am and reopen at 10pm.

Medical Tent - Will be set up directly outside of 3808 Main Street - 11am - 7:00pm

For the safety of both the runners and spectators we will have barricades set up along each side of Main Street until approximately 7:00pm. Though residents may be able to access their property, it is strongly encouraged to make other parking arrangements for Saturday morning until Saturday evening.
